Super Green Breakfast Smoothie
Serves 2
A simple easily-digested meal based on fruit is the most appropriate food for breakfast. Some people need more fat (e.g. nuts and seeds) or protein (sprouted quinoa or spirulina) in the morning. Depending on your tastes and your lifestyle, there will be a smoothie variation which works for you.
2 oranges, skin removed, but white pith and seeds retained (or apples)
2 bananas
¼ cup almonds, soaked overnight
1 T spirulina
Water (warm in winter)
Optional additions: ground flax seed; ground sesame seeds; sprouted quinoa; sprouted buckwheat; Vitamineral Green or other green superfood; fresh coconut water; honey; soaked dried fruit; different soaked nuts; bee pollen
Chop the fruit and combine everything in a blender!
